Ric’s CV Painting we perform the most extensive and thorough preparation to be found. This is critical to a durable, long lasting, and beautiful paint job. Our service, however, extends far beyond this and includes the following components:
IDENTIFY CAUSES OF PREVIOUS PAINT FAILURES
- We are experts at evaluating the root cause of existing problems – a critical step in providing a long term solution.
DETERMINE THE APPROPRIATE JOB SCOPE
- Inspect the Area: Examine the area that needs to be painted. Check for damages, cracks, or imperfections on the surface. Note down areas that might need repair or special attention.
- Consider Surface Type: Identify the type of surface you’ll be painting on (drywall, wood, concrete, etc.). Different surfaces may require different preparation techniques or primers.
- Choose Paint Type: Decide on the type of paint you’ll use (latex, oil-based, etc.) based on the surface and the desired finish.
EVALUATE THE PARTICULAR NEEDS, REQUIREMENTS, AND CLIENT PREFERENCES FOR EACH PROJECT
- We believe communication is important which is why having a thorough conversation with the client to understand their expectations, preferences, and any specific requirements they may have regarding colors, finishes, timelines, and budget constraints is key.
PROTECTION
- Proper protection of the property, floors, carpets, door hardware, and other non-painted surfaces is a vital part of our process.
- Work areas are encased to prevent dust migration into other areas of the structure
- The job site is cleaned up during and at the end of each day as well as at the end of the job. We will leave the job site as clean, or cleaner than when we arrived.
PREPARATION
The preparation of the surfaces prior to painting is the most time consuming, expensive and important step in any beautiful, lasting paint job
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the surface is clean and free of dust, dirt, grease, and any loose paint. Using water or a suitable cleaner for the surface type.
- Repair Imperfections: Fill in any holes, cracks, or gaps with appropriate fillers or putty. Sand the surface after the filler has dried to ensure a smooth finish.
- Protect Surrounding Areas: Cover floors, furniture, and fixtures with drop cloths or plastic sheets to prevent accidental paint splatters or spills.
- Apply Primer (if necessary): Some surfaces might require a primer before applying paint. Primer helps the paint adhere better, provides a uniform surface, and can hide imperfections.
