The preparation of the surfaces prior to painting is the most time consuming, expensive and important step in any beautiful, lasting paint job
- Clean the Surface: Ensure the surface is clean and free of dust, dirt, grease, and any loose paint. Using water or a suitable cleaner for the surface type. Usually, every house will be power washed depending on clients chose.
- Repair Imperfections: Fill in any holes, cracks, or gaps with appropriate fillers or putty. Sand the surface after the filler has dried to ensure a smooth finish.
- Protect Surrounding Areas: Covering, outdoor furniture, and fixtures with drop cloths or plastic sheets to prevent accidental paint splatters or spills.
- Apply Primer (if necessary): Some surfaces might require a primer before applying paint. Primer helps the paint adhere better, provides a uniform surface, and can hide imperfections.
